Datenschutzerklärung

Short version: this website does not use cookies, tracking or analytics, and it loads nothing from third parties. The only personal data processed are the technical server logs every web server writes, and your email if you write to me.

Hosting

This website runs on a server rented from Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in a data centre within the European Union. Hetzner processes data on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).

Server logs

When you open a page, the web server automatically records technical data: your IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. I need this to run the website securely and to detect attacks (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are deleted after 7 days. They are not combined with other data or used to identify visitors.

No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking tools. Fonts are hosted on this server, so no request goes to Google or other font services. The interactive examples in “Wer sitzt im Kasten?” run entirely in your browser; nothing you click or type there is sent anywhere.

Contact by email

If you email me, I use your address and message only to reply (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and delete them when they are no longer needed.

External links

Links to other websites, such as LinkedIn, are plain links. No data is transferred until you click them; after that, the other website’s privacy policy applies.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). To exercise them, email me. You can also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb.gv.at).
